LOCAL VINE TASTING

One of the hallmarks of Slovenia’s allure lies in its seamless integration of centuries-old winemaking traditions into its modern fabric. You can experience first hand and try the best wines from different regions.

WINE TASTING

Where the flavour inebriates you

Slovenian wines reflect the country’s exceptional position at the crossroads of the Alps, the Pannonian Plain and the Mediterranean. Its varied climate, landscape, soil and production methods foster a great diversity of grape varieties, which are among the best in the world. We can get you in touch with many different wine makers.

THE VRŠIČ PASS

Visit Erjavčeva koča for a spectacular view

The Vršič Pass is one of the most beautiful destinations in Slovenia, especially for those who love the outdoors and hiking and for those who who enjoy stunning mountain scenery and local cuisine. At an elevation of 1,611 metres, it offers breathtaking views of the surrounding Julian Alps and connects Upper Carniola with the Trenta Valley in the Slovene Littoral region. The Erjavčeva koča is a mountain hut located at the top of the pass, where visitors can stay the night and enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding mountains.

At Erjavčeva koča you can in addition to the scenic views, visitors can also try some of the local dishes, such as štruklji and stews. Štruklji is a traditional Slovenian dish that consists of a rolled pastry filled with a variety of sweet or savory ingredients, while stews are often made with locally sourced meats and vegetables.

If you are planning a visit to the Vršič Pass, I would recommend bringing warm clothing and comfortable shoes, as the weather and terrain can be unpredictable at higher elevations.
